What kind of research do Kyoto University’s researchers carry out in Africa? One thing they have in common is fieldwork.
Kyoto University Interdisciplinary Unit for African Studies has made a short movie, “Kyoto University and Africa: Challenges of Fieldworkers,” in collaboration with Kyoto University Research Administration Office. Tracing its history since 1958 when African studies in Japan started, the movie introduces a variety of research projects in Africa, which pursue to unveil the riddle of human evolution or contribute to society by utilizing African potentials.
